Explore Your Weekend in Downtown Grass Valley

Experience the Best of Grass Valley

Whether you're planning a relaxing weekend getaway or an adventure-filled vacation, The Pines Inn & Cottages places you in the heart of everything that makes Grass Valley special. From award-winning restaurants and live performances to scenic hiking trails and Gold Rush history, you'll find countless ways to experience the best of the Sierra Foothills—all just minutes from your room.

With historic downtown Grass Valley just around the corner and direct access to the beautiful Wildflower Ridge Preserve from our property, your next adventure is never far away.

Downtown Grass Valley sits about three-quarters of a mile from the front gate, walkable on sidewalks most of the way, near where West Main Street becomes Rough and Ready Highway. It's a real Gold Rush downtown — 1860s storefronts, independent restaurants and shops, live music, and tasting rooms you can walk between.

This is what our guests actually do when they're here: where they eat, where they drink, where they browse, and what's worth timing a trip around. Hours run short at some of these places, so a quick call ahead never hurts.

Grass Valley and Nevada City are home to a thriving dining scene featuring everything from cozy cafés and bakeries to fine dining and local breweries. Start your morning with fresh coffee and pastries, enjoy lunch on a downtown patio, or savor an unforgettable dinner made with locally sourced ingredients.
